Four matches will be played each day during the group stage over the course of a 12-day period. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played over two legs, home and away, while the final will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
The winners and runner-ups will progress to the round of 16 and the knockout phase, which follows the traditional format with quarter-finals between 9-10 December, semi-finals between 13-17 December, and the final on 18 December. France is the defending champions after defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
